Our approach to coaching

 

Increasingly business leaders value the lasting difference that coaching can make to key teams and team members. Why?  Because the effective contribution of people remains the underlying basis for competitive advantage for our clients.  Our approach to coaching focuses on identifying and bringing about changes to a person’s individual performance by following a highly person-centred structured approach.  Team & individual performance coaching therefore is a form of on-the-job training using work situations to provide planned and guided opportunities for learning.  At OTT Consulting we believe that the overall intention of team & individual performance coaching is to:  

 

'enable or equip the individuals to make their own decisions so that they may make a sustained improvement in their performance and the performance of others and consequently a greatly increased contribution to the organisation'.  

 

Our starting point involves making the person being coached aware of how they are performing, and encouraging them to think about their performance and experiment, using on-the-job situations when they arise, as learning opportunities.  In conducting performance coaching we would spend time and planned effort helping your key team members develop, using real situations, treating the process as virtually a continuous one throughout the agreed lifecycle of the coaching programme.  OTT Consulting’s insights into the nature and dynamics of the challenges facing both businesses and teams within businesses today, enable us to partner with you exploring the pragmatic question:  What do you and your key team members need to develop, to have the capability and desire to provide the best possible value to your company and stakeholders, today and in the future?    OTT Consulting’s approach to all our client services, including performance coaching starts with effective communication - we listen first.
